CHERYL ACOSTA-KIESEL, MS, LPC

outpatient therapist

As a Licensed Professional Counselor I believe that a healthy relationship, with ourselves and others,  is key to providing meaning in our lives. It is my passion to assist individuals and couples in understanding themselves and the people in their lives. I also work with individuals who wish to address personal concerns that might include anxiety, depression, codependency, self-doubt, loneliness, childhood trauma, spiritual questions, losses, and life transitions.

Prior to starting my counseling career, I attended Villanova University where I obtained my Masters of Science degree in Counseling and Human Relations, and later became a National Board Certified Counselor.   I began my career as a counselor with a local community-based center assisting  individuals who were working through relationship struggles, personal issues, and/or addictions.   I later went on to work in a private practice, before joining a local counseling practice where I have spent most of my career helping individuals and couples.

I use a collaborative, person-centered approach to assist my clients in addressing and resolving the current difficulties in their life.  My treatment modality is often a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy to treat the symptoms affecting daily life, as well as Insight Oriented and Psychodynamic Therapy to make sense of root causes.  I also offer faith-based counseling for those who wish to incorporate this in their process of healing.
